Late Lance Naik Gopal Singh was born in Talpura village of Bah Tehsil in Gujarat on 27 July 1983. Lance Naik Gopal Singh Bhadoriya was the son of Munim singh. Bhadoriya had his primary education at his maternal place Dabhoi in Vadodara district and joined engineering at Nirma University Ahmedabad before joining the Army to fulfill his childhood dream. He joined the Rashtriya Rifles in the year 2002 and was part of NSG commando group tasked to clear the Taj hotel of terrorists in the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. He was enrolled in the Armey on 22 July 2003. He was an outstanding soldier during training in the corps of signals. He was part of National Security Guards during 9/11 terror attack in Mumbai. During the 26/11 terror attacks in 2008 while flushing out terrorists from Taj hotel of terrorists Gopal Singh had carried an injured Subedar Major out of the hotel in the face of heavy firing by terrorists and took him to the ambulance. For this act of bravery he was awarded the prestigious Vishisht Seva Medal. During his tenure with 1Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, Individual was part of Commanding Officer’s Quick Reaction Team since July 2017.
Bhandoriya encounter Feb 12, 2017Lance Naik Gopal Singh was one of the two soldiers who were martyred during a 10-hour gun-battle with militants in Frisal village in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on 12 Feb 2017. The security forces acting upon specific technical and human intelligence that assured the presence of militants, had swooped down on their hideout at Frisal village and engaged them in an encounter. The four militants who were killed in the encounter between security forces and militants were identified as members of terror groups Lashkare-Taiba (LeT) and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen. The fierce gun-battle continued for 10-hours as the security forces surrounded the house in Frisal village to flush out the terrorists. The militants opened fire from within the house where they were holed up, making it difficult for Army men to enter. Sepoy Raghubeer Singh along with Lance Naik Gopal Singh Bhadoriya epitomized the form of selfless courage as they were the leading buddy pair of the team that launched an operation in Frisal area of Kulgam Feb 12, 2017 during which four terrorists were eliminated.
Lance Naik Gopal’s father Munim Singh Bhadoria had shifted from the village to Ahmedabad, where he runs a security agency. Lance Naik Gopal’s wife Jayshree and two sons Sanjay and Vikram live in Ahemadabad. Lance Naik Gopalsingh’s younger brother Vikram singh is a Home Guard Jawan and eldest brother works in a private company in Indore.
